Ethics
Emphasizing the importance on why household pets do not have the same rights as service dogs.

There is a lot of confusion around what technically qualifies as a service animal, which is why there have been so many unethical acts regarding this topic. Many people ask themselves, why can't my dog go into the store if their dog can go into the store? As a result, countless amounts of people will claim that their dog is certified by showing a false certificate, or putting a vest on their dog and claiming that it is a service dog. This act is unethical because it diminishes the validity of those that really do need their certified service
dog to help them get around.

A dog that is properly house trained, is not necessarily properly trained for public spaces. Service dogs typically go through months, sometimes even years, of training in order to help their owners maneuver around. The use of "fake service dogs" can cause business owners to challenge a legit service dog user, when they are not doing anything illegal.

Some service dog owners ask themselves, why should my service dog get kicked out of a restaurant because the week before somebody else's pet went to the bathroom inside the restaurant? They shouldn't have to. Listen above to hear what some industry members have to say on the topic.
